For years, this was a popular drink across all continents, until, for some reason, beer, wine, and other spirits took over the industry. In fact, mead hasn't been made in Delaware for over one hundred years... that is, until Liquid Alchemy opened up the first modern Delaware meadery.

It's actually hard to find mead in Delaware, and Liquid Alchemy was the very first meadery in the state.

Mead has been around for over 20,000 years, making it possibly the world's oldest alcoholic beverage. It's made by fermenting honey with water, fruits, and a few additional ingredients. The result is a sweet, hoppy beverage that's incredibly drinkable.

Liquid Alchemy's founders perfected their mead recipes after trying the drink in Portland in 2012.

They were so enthralled that they embarked on a home-brew adventure of their own. In just five years, they had established their operation as one of the finest mead producers, winning award after award with their lineup of meads and ciders.

They officially opened to the public in 2016!

With 11 award-winning meads and four fantastic ciders, you'll want to try all of the different varieties before choosing your favorite.
