5. Marian Coffin Gardens at Gibraltar

Cape Henlopen remains the best spot in Delaware to catch a sunrise. 7. Trap Pond State Park

10. Prime Hook NWR

11. Blackbird Creek Preserve
This little known preserved public land is a wonderful spot for a fall foliage hike, or a sunny day picnic. It's often empty, so if you like solitude and scenery, this may become your new favorite place in Delaware.

12. Newark Reservoir

13. Russell W. Peterson Urban Wildlife Refuge
Head over to the first urban wildlife refuge in the area to escape the busy, urban Wilmington scene. Located right on the riverfront, this is a great place to visit and then stroll into the city for a great meal overlooking the Christina River.
