One thing that I've been looking forward to this summer is taking my toddler to see his first movie on the big screen. Since my little guy is only 1 1/2 (and because I don't want every single theater patron to hate me), my husband and I decided that taking him to see a movie at the drive-in would probably be the way to go. I have many fond memories of going to the drive-in with my family and can't wait to share that same cinematic magic with mine. If you are looking to add a little magic to your summer, be sure to check out one of these 6 remaining Colorado drive-in theaters.
1.) 88 Drive-In Theater (Commerce City)
This 88th Avenue institution has been serving the Denver area since 1972.
2.) Holiday Twin Drive-In (Fort Collins)
This mountainside drive-in has been the "place to be" for over 30 years.
3.) Mesa Drive-In (Pueblo)
The Mesa has been lighting up the darkness of night with their large screens and projectors since 1951.
4.) Star Drive-In Theater (Monte Vista)
This theater is the only drive-in of its kind that is attached to a motel -- how fun would it be to watch the big screen from the comfort of your room?!
5.) Comanche Drive-In Theater (Buena Vista)
Closed briefly in 2008, the drive-in is once again open and showing both classics and new releases.
6.) Tru-Vu Drive-In (Delta)
Snacks, flicks, and family fun await you at this gem on the Western Slope.
Which of these remaining theaters is your favorite?
