Are you looking for a fast and fun way to enjoy Colorado's changing leaves this fall? While you can drive by them over and over again, there is a unique and even better way to enjoy them, which includes an incredibly fun and fast-paced ride on the Alpine Coaster at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park:
Located in - you guessed it! - Glenwood Springs, the Alpine Coaster at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is the first alpine coaster in America and arguably one of the best thrills in the state!
Named one of the "10 Best Roller-Coaster Rides of Your Life" by USA TODAY's 10Best, the Alpine Coaster is a year-round thrill that - while we recommend trying to visit every season - is best enjoyed in the fall, when the leaves are changing, and the landscape is ablaze in red, orange, and yellow.
Featuring a steep 3,400-foot descent, riders on the Alpine Coaster can go as fast or as slow as they like, as each car can be controlled via an easy-to-use brake.
"Unlike an alpine slide, you can't fall out of the Alpine Coaster," reassures Glenwood Caverns, adding that "Cars are affixed to the track, and the ride is designed to take the tightest hairpin turns at full speed," making for a ride that is as safe as it is fun!
Please note: Riders must be at least 38" tall and 3 years old to ride, and a waiver is required for every rider under 18.
Summer and fall admission for the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and Alpine Coaster starts at $59 for adults and $54 for children and can be purchased in advance on their website.
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is open Wednesday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
