It's easy in a city like Cincinnati to stick to your tried and true favorite places. But sometimes you want to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new, and Cincinnati delivers when it comes to adventures and pushing your limits. Maybe you need the adrenaline from a zipline through the trees, or maybe you've never been on a horse before and are ready to face your fear. No matter what you decide, whenever you are feeling adventurous, here are 8 perfect places to go in and around Cincinnati.
Did you know that the Midwest's largest zipline adventure is a short drive from Cincinnati? Ozone Zipline Adventures is in Warren County as a part of the YMCA's Camp Kern. You can zip through the trees on a number of different tour options and they have reservations available all year long.
Experience a little adventure on horseback at Winton Woods Riding Center. Groups of 3-10 people can book a trail ride, where you'll go out with their experienced staff and hit the trails aboard a four-legged friend. Reservations are required for their hour-long rides, which are one of the most unique adventures in the city.
3. Morgan's
Canoe & Outdoor Adventures
During the warmer months, one of the fun adventures everyone should try at least once is a ride on the river with Morgan's Canoe. There are three locations in the Cincinnati area, each of which offers a number of excursions and beautiful, natural scenery.
For an urban adventure in Cincinnati, check out the unique tours offered by Segway of Cincinnati through The Garage OTR. Explore the beauty and history of the city in areas like Eden Park, downtown, Spring Grove Cemetery, and the riverfront.
Just an hour south of Cincinnati, not only can you climb trees with the incredible EarthJoy TREE Adventures, but you can spend the night in them, too! EarthJoy offers a variety of tree climbing adventures and they also have an overnight option with their unique treehouses.
6. Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve
This 268-acre nature preserve is just a little over an hour northeast of Cincinnati and offers some of the most beautiful hiking in the region. It's a beautiful area any time of year and the trails are interesting and the perfect adventure into nature. You could easily spend a day exploring the hiking trails and gorge, as well as the other attractions in the town of Yellow Springs.
We may not have any mountains in Cincinnati to climb, but that doesn't mean you can't test your strength. RockQuest in Sharonville has a climbing experience for everyone and is a great alternative to a traditional workout. Challenge yourself physically and mentally with the ultimate indoor adventure.
Commonly called the Loveland Bike Trail, you can have all sorts of adventure along this epic, paved trail just outside of Cincinnati. If you've never been on this trail before, downtown Loveland is a great place to start and they offer bike and equipment rentals in that area, as well. Much of the trail follows an old rail line and whether you decide to bike, walk, run, or skip along the path, you'll love the variety of scenery and ease of this favorite destination.
Cincinnati is filled with adventures that challenge you both physically and mentally, and also offers plenty of places to go just to satisfy that adventurous spirit.
