Fall in Charlotte is a great time to get out and visit some of our city's awesome craft breweries. Craft beer has become quite popular in the QC and many breweries have opened in our town, contributing to our culture and social landscape.
Each weekend many craft beer lovers head out to one of their favorite breweries to enjoy some fun with friends and try a new local beverage. These are just a few of our favorite in the QC - you should check them out next weekend!
1. Legion Brewing
Legion Brewing is a brewery in Plaza Midwood that has become an instant hotspot with the locals in the neighborhood. Legion's mantra is that sharing good beer with friends is one of life's pleasures, and they aim to make this possible for everyone that walks through their doors. Legion Brewing offers a variety of locally brewed beers ranging from pale ales to stouts.
A few to try are the Crease Monkey which is an Appalachian Wheat and Pilsner Malt with hints of banana, spice and bubble gum; or the Juicy Jay IPA which is made with Mosaic, El Dorado, and Cascade Hops.One cool thing about Legion is that they always offer an "Adventure Tap" which is a select beer offered each day for $5 a glass. When purchased $1 of each purchase will be donated to a local charity.

2. The Unknown Brewing Co.
The Unknown Brewing Co. is a brewery in Uptown Charlotte on South Mint Street. This brewery offers guests a large industrial style tap room that you can wander through and view how the beer is made.
Self-declared as an "open road", The Unknown Brewing Co. offers guests the chance to create whatever stories or memories they desire while visiting the brewery. They want to remain Unknown so you the patron can form your own opinions. Beer choices at the Unknown Brewing Co. range from lagers, pale ales, IPAs, stouts and more. 3. Birdsong Brewing
Birdsong Brewing is one of Charlotte's favorite breweries located in NoDa. They offer plenty of variety with Year 'Round, Seasonal, Limited Release and Barrel Aged options listed on their menu.
The Higher Ground IPA and the Jalapeno Pale Ale are popular around the QC, and you will find them sold at other local establishments, either. The Honey Pie IPA is one of our favorites from the limited release menu, and we can't wait to sample some of the fall and winter seasonal brews!

4. Wooden Robot Brewery
Wooden Robot Brewery is a popular brewery in South End. A fun, local spot this brewery has awesome beer choices and also has a great food menu to complement the beverages. Wooden Robot offers a mix of ambers, ales (blonde, farmhouse, abbey and pale), IPAs, sours and stouts.
Wooden Robot will also occasionally put new spins on some of their regular brews. The What He's Having IPA infused with fresh peach and jalapeno is one of our favorite summer blends. If you're looking for a place to take friends or family to try some delicious craft beer and awesome food then head out to Wooden Robot in Southend. We promise you'll love it.

5. Blue Blaze Brewing
Blue Blaze Brewing is a casual little spot in West End Charlotte. The two-story tap room is modern and minimal and a great place to hang out and socialize with friends. Blue Blaze Brewing offers five flagship beers as well as a unique rotating selection of specialty and seasonal beers.
One thing we love about Blue Blaze Brewing is it's outdoor space. Rocking chairs line the front porch and the courtyard out front, as well as these unique wooden stumps where you can sit around a fire pit when the weather is cooler. The atmosphere of this brewery makes it so much fun, and we love enjoying a tasty beer around the fire here in the fall.

6. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery
Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is one of Charlotte's largest and most well-known breweries. The brewery not only serves great beer, but throughout the year it hosts many local and community gatherings for Charlotte residents. The German Christmas Market is one of the most popular and a main event for many Charlotteans each December.
OMB is known for its amazing outdoor Biergarten where guests can sit at picnic tables enjoying their beers in a lovely outdoor environment.
The brewery and Biergarten are also popular locations for private events, weddings and parties. OMB is located off of Yancey Rd. near South End in an area that has quickly become home to many breweries and distilleries. If you're looking to experience a true German brewery, then you must get out to OMB for a beer and brat.

7. Sugar Creek Brewing Company
After you finish at OMB, head across the street to sample some beers from Sugar Creek Brewing Company. Sugar Creek Brewing Company opened in 2014 and serves an amazing selection of Belgian beers. Sugar Creek Brewing Company has a "fancy" for Belgian beers because they "break the rules" in brewing.
Belgian brewers used techniques that were uncommon in German or British brewing like using ingredients such as aged hops, fruits, or spices. Sugar Creek Brewing Company has set out to "break the rules" in Charlotte to show visitors how tasty it can be. Sugar Creek offers customers 11 award-winning Belgian beers, so if you have in an interest in trying something new and delicious this is where you need to be.

8. Triple C. Brewing Co.
Triple C. Brewing Co. is another Charlotte Brewery that's been lighting up the brewery scene in the QC. Triple C offers awesome beers and a great patio with games and cornhole to entertain guests while they are enjoying a beer. The brewery is also is dog-friendly, so you can bring your pup inside and out while drinking here!
Triple C offers a great variety of regular and seasonal beers, and you can even find their tasty brews canned or bottled and sold in local stores. Triple C is extremely active in the community and hosts various activities at the brewery like a weekly run club or weekly yoga classes. This is a great place to visit if you're looking to meet new people or enjoy a fitness activity and then a beer!

9. Sycamore Brewing
Sycamore Brewing is a popular spot in South End that is always hoppin’. With its large patio and spacious side parking lot, Sycamore is known for hosting many events like Food Truck Fridays, music festivals, and has become one of the most social breweries in Charlotte and is a great place to go with friends or family.
On most weekends Sycamore hosts live music which is a huge draw for locals. A few of Sycamore's most popular beers include the Southern Girl American Blonde, the High Tide Wheat and the Ridgeline Stout. Sycamore also offers a variety of ciders for the non-beer drinker, making it a great place for everyone.
