We all have our favorite pairings — wine and cheese, beer and pretzels, peanut butter and jelly — or, in my case, chocolate and almost anything. Some things just go together, right? So how about food and shopping? Oh, and awesome views for a bonus! That is exactly what you’ll find every weekend at Los Feliz Flea at Vintage Land in Los Angeles. Could this be the coolest flea and vintage market in the state?
If you are an avid thrifter, vintage hunter, or just love shopping in general, this is the place to be on weekends in the city. Located in a downtown parking garage, Los Feliz Flea is the biggest Saturday flea market in LA, and saying it has a lot to offer is quite the understatement. Let's start with the rooftop Curated Vintage Market, a shopping wonderland with cool breezes and sweeping views of the iconic LA skyline. You could easily spend the day browsing for treasures up here. But wait, (say it with me) there's more!
This market is actually spread over two floors. On the ground floor, you'll find the antiques market where you can shop for larger items and unique pieces with a story of their own. Between the two levels, more than 200 vendors, artisans, and local makers offer a massive array of finds including vinyl, vintage clothing, art and collectibles, specialty items from the 1960s and '70s, handmade items, antiques, retro furniture, jewelry and accessories, and so much more.
More than a fantastic shopping destination, Los Feliz Flea at Vintage Land is a social weekend destination. On the ground floor, stop at one of the food truck stalls to grab some gourmet bites and head back up to the roof for coffee, tea, cocktails, or mocktails from the full bar and coffee bar. There are lots of tables with umbrellas so you can enjoy a leisurely break as you plot out your next shopping move.
The best part (at least from the standpoint of a biased dog mom) is that the market is pet-friendly. Bring the entire family, including your furry best friend, for a fun day. Pet parents will love discovering a few vendors with pet-centric offerings like dog toys, pet clothing, and pet-themed artwork. There is even a dog run on the roof.
You're sure to find something for everyone and a few things you didn't know you needed, and if you need a break from shopping (and you already hit the food and bar), take up a game of pickleball or ping pong, or test your wits with a VR escape room. Once you spend a Saturday here, we're pretty sure you'll be back for more.
The market is open every Saturday of the year, rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is always free. You'll also enjoy free garage parking by entering on either Alpine or Figueroa Terrace.
