In San Francisco, age is a number. If you want to get in touch with your childish side then this is the right city for you. Why? With more than 100 playgrounds in our 49 square miles, you have plenty of places to feel like a kid again.
1. Lafayette Park: Gough & Washington Street, 94109
Since being renovated in 2013, Lafayette Park is gleaming and waiting to be used! Enjoy a cool stone climbing structure and a water feature. This park has incredible views of the Bay, downtown, and more!
2. Seward Slides - 30 Seward Street, San Francisco, 94114
Built in 1973, this San Francisco park with an adult slide has the ability to bring out the kid in anyone. That’s because its main attraction is a pair of slides built right into the hill.
3. Hayes Valley Playground: Hayes And Buchanan, 94102
A true playground for everyone. There is an outdoor fitness area for adults. Also there’s also a clubhouse, a stage, and a community garden.
4. J.P. Murphy Playground: 1960 9th Avenue, 94116
This is a cool playground in the Inner Sunset/Golden Gate Heights neighborhood. This is a fun place to stay fit and feel like a kid again. You'll enjoy great views and even a peek of the Golden Gate Bridge.
5. Mission Playground: 9th Street & Cunningham Place, 94110
Mission park is in the heart of the Mission. There is a lot of activity around here, so be prepared. Also, there are two main play areas: one along Valencia which water features that and another part with climbing structures and slides next to the Mission Clubhouse. Fun for everyone!
6. Eureka Valley Recreation Center: 100 Collingwood Street, Collingwood Park, 94114
If you want a more sophisticated experience then head hear for a cushioned playground in the Castro. The rec center offers a ton of classes, and features a baseball diamond, tennis court, and dog activities.
7. Grattan Playground: 1180 Stanyan Street, 94117
This playground is in Cole Valley and has lots of sand and equipment. If you want to feel like a kid again then check out the sand, giant swings, and slides alongside the soccer field.
8. Presidio Heights Playground:
A truly cool spot that may be overlooked for everyone. This playground is similar to being in your back yard. Features include a toddler play area with big sand pit, slides, swings, a climbing structure.
9. Duboce Park: Duboce Ave And Noe Street, 94117
This playground is a wonderful place to watch the trains go by. This is a a small playground and a second playground for older ones. A dog park, a basketball court, and the Harvey Milk Rec Center are all nearby.
10. Koret/Golden Gate Park Children’s Playground: 320 Bowling Green Drive, Golden Gate Park, 94199
The best and most regal playground of all. Koret playground features one of the tallest climbing structures in the park circuit, a water feature and a carousel! This is epic!
11. Sunset Recreation Center: 2201 Lawton Street, 94122
This is a fantastic playground with an area for kids and adults who want to feel like kids. There are plenty of areas to explore and see as well.
