It may still technically be spring, but summer is just around the corner and it's time to start making plans. At the top of your list should be a visit to this epic outdoor water playground. This is truly unlike any other water park you've seen before. The playground is actually floating on water! No matter how young or old you are, you'll find yourself falling in love with this one-of-a-kind aqua park.
Velocity Island Park is a little-known gem located in Woodland, approximately 15 miles northwest of Sacramento. If you haven't been here before, you're about to find out what you've been missing out on.
The park is primarily known for their "cable park" for wakeboarding. The cables pull wakeboarders around the water while providing them with all sorts of obstacles for completing stunts. However, wakeboarding isn't all that Velocity Island has to offer.
They are also home to their very own aqua park known as "Pirate Cove". It kind of looks like a floating outdoor playground on the water. Most people haven't seen anything like this before.
The playground is composed of slides, jumping pillows, trampolines, swings, challenge tracks, and so much more. They are all connected by floating walkways and tracks.
There's something for everyone at the park. You'll find smaller structures for the little ones and more intense, larger structures for the thrill seekers.
Participants must be at least 6 years or older to take part in the fun. Even adults will have a total blast while bouncing around the playground!
The aqua park will open for the season on May 19th. Pricing is $15 per person on weekdays and $20 on weekends for a 50-minute session.
There are plenty of shaded structures and beached areas to hang out after you've had enough fun on the playground. Don't forget to stop by their restaurant and pick up a bite to eat!
You'll find Velocity Island Park located at 755 North East Street, Woodland, CA 95776, right off Interstate 5. You definitely don't want to miss out on this epic experience this summer!
