Theme parks are supposed to be full of fun, laughter, and thrills. After all, that's why they were constructed in the first place. However, plenty of theme parks have perished over the years for some reason or another. In fact, there's a creepy abandoned theme park in Northern California that not many people are aware of anymore. This place definitely has some spooky vibes. It's considered to be private property, but it doesn't take much for people to keep their distance from this place. The gates aren't really necessary; this abandoned amusement park in California is creepy enough to keep most away.
Hiding away in the woods near Guerneville is the remnants of what was once a family favorite destination called J's Amusement Park. It may have once been a place of joy, but now it resembles something like a scene out of a horror movie.
The amusement park originally opened in the 1960s to much glee from the locals. During its heyday, the park was filled with people of all ages taking advantage of this unique park in the small town of Guerneville.
It was home to things like a roller coaster, a mad mouse, miniature golf, a race track, and a lot more. The amusement park was a family-run business, and to this day many of the locals recall fond memories that were created at J's Amusement Park.
Even the scrambler is still in tact, but these rides have definitely seen better days.
There's something incredibly creepy about walking around this park and seeing all the ways that nature has reclaimed the rides that have been sitting here untouched for years.
This abandoned theme park in Northern California was officially closed down in 2003 due to rising costs. The park was used for special events, like an annual haunted house, for a few years after its closing. However, it currently is completely abandoned.
Some people say the park is haunted by the ghost of a young woman who died here in the 80s, although there hasn't been any concrete evidence that any fatal accidents actually occurred at J's Amusement Park.
Still, it doesn't take much to believe this place could be haunted. It definitely looks the part.
This abandoned theme park in California has remained totally defunct for years and the various attractions that were once the source of so much happiness have been left behind to wither. However, there's still something oddly beautiful about this little-known haunt.
