With Northern California's love for farm fresh ingredients and local food, it's no surprise we have an artisan cheese shop right here in our region. The Loleta Cheese Factory in Humboldt County is known far and wide for its delicious product, beautiful garden, and overall great experience.
Loleta Cheese Factory offers it all... a garden to stroll in, an insider's view on cheese making, and of course, plenty of samples!
It's located in the picturesque setting of Humboldt farm land. Rolling green hills and the Factory's garden are the visual highlights on this excursion.
They have a wide variety of cheese for sale, all of it made right there in the shop.
Guests can watch the cheese making process through glass windows in the factory.
The owners and staff have been making cheese here since 1982 and you can tell by the quality that they really know what they are doing.
Regular mass produced cheese probably won't quite cut it after you get used to this quality stuff. Better stock up on it while you can!
After a tour of the factory and a few samples, swing by the gift shop and pick up those items you liked best.
It's a great place to find the accoutrements to eat with your cheese. They also will serve you coffee here.
And if you are hungry for lunch, there is a grilled cheese bar that is going to blow your mind.
And it doesn't end there. The grounds include a stunning garden where guests are encouraged to walk around and enjoy the day. After all that cheese, you might want to burn off a few calories, as well!
Guests can also partake in a scavenger hunt, which you can pick up from the gift shop. It will keep you entertained and get you up on your feet.
These unusual flowers are just so interesting... we're not sure what they are but we can bet the folks at Loleta Cheese factory could!
The shop and factory is located at 252 Loleta Dr in Loleta . You can call (707) 733-5470 or visit loletacheese.com for more info.
