Graffiti is frowned upon pretty much everywhere in the state but at Graffiti Alley, it's encouraged. The walls are ever-changing as artists continue to create beautiful works of street art.

3. Explore underwater life at the National Aquarium.

The National Aquarium is one of the most impressive aquariums in the United States. You could easily spend several hours here appreciating all types of creatures, from stingrays, to sea turtles, and much more. The rainforest section is also an unexpected but delightful surprise.

4. Get up close and personal with animals at the Maryland Zoo.

Speaking of creatures, the Maryland Zoo is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of various mammals, amphibians, birds, and more. Favorites include the penguin exhibit and feeding the giraffes.

5. Eat to your heart's content at Lexington Market.

This iconic and historic marketplace has some of the most flavorful food in the city. We highly recommend trying a Faidley's crab cake at least once, although you'll definitely want to return for more.

6. See Baltimore from a whole new perspective at Federal Hill Park.

Walk across the harbor and follow the stairs up to this park perched on a hill. The view from this place is spectacular, and it's a favorite spot among local photographers.

7. Cheer on the Orioles at Camden Yards.

Even if you're not a huge fan of baseball, this is an experience that every Baltimorean should have. The energy is sky high and the park is gorgeous.

8. Bacaw at a Ravens game until you can't bacaw anymore.

I just mentioned that Orioles games are high energy but they pale in comparison to a lively Ravens game. Football season is magic in Baltimore so prepare your vocal cords accordingly.

9. Take a step back in time at Fort McHenry.

This Baltimore fort is known as the birthplace of the Star Spangled Banner, created by Francis Scott Key. Spend some time touring this spot, which is also said to be haunted.

10. Marvel at the Patterson Park Pagoda.

This impressive structure looks like it belongs in another country, but we are proud to have it right here in the city. It dates back decades but has been restored to its former glory. You can even enter, walk up the spiral staircase, and enjoy the view.

11. Be WOWed by Hampden's 34th Street at Christmastime.

This annual light display is a Baltimore staple. Folks travel all over to see the quirky decorations up close, including Natty Boh Christmas angels, neon glowing crabs, and more.

12. Attend the Washington Monument lighting ceremony.

Another holiday season favorite is the lighting ceremony at Baltimore's Washington Monument. Seeing this tall structure all aglow is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Originally built for a music institute, this stunning piece of architecture is now a popular spot for ravish weddings. If you're a bookworm, this should definitely be on your bucket list.

This grave marker is often visited by lovers of Poe's work, and some even leave gifts in memory of this iconic Baltimore resident.

The most scenic way to get around on the Harbor. Whether you need to travel between Fells Point, Canton, or even to Fort McHenry, there's nothing like a water taxi ride, especially around sunset.

17. Celebrate the 4th of July at the Harbor.

This annual tradition is among the most impressive fireworks displays in Maryland. Get there early to ensure a good spot, and enjoy!

18. Catch a flick at The Senator Theatre.

This grand theatre is on the National Register of Historic Places. The atmosphere is truly nostalgic and you can even host private parties in the skyboxes.

There are several bars in this area that are filled with unique character. Grab a few friends and grab more than a few brews along the journey.

20. Eat your weight in pasta in Little Italy.

It may not be as good as an actual trip to Italy, but the food found at these restaurants are pretty darn close. Carb lovers will want to frequent this spot often, so keep it in mind for date night.
