Everyone loves a swinging bridge! Not only do they bridge the gap (literally) along scenic trails, but they often boast great views. There aren't lots of swinging bridges in Arkansas; however, we found three that you’ll want to spend a day exploring.
1. Zinc Swinging Bridge (Zinc)
A longstanding staple in the tiny town of Zinc, this swinging bridge extends 104-feet over Sugar Orchard Creek. It was built in 1927, making it the oldest known suspension bridge in Arkansas. That’s not its only claim to fame, though. It’s also the only pedestrian bridge of its kind in the state, according to the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program.
2. Sylamore Swinging Bridge (Mountain View)
Dating back to the early 1900s, Sylamore Swinging Bridge has seen numerous changes over the years, including a 2018 restoration. The 200-foot-bridge, which spans South Sylamore Creek, is open to pedestrians and vehicles. No matter the mode of transportation, you’re likely to feel the bridge move a bit.
3. Tanyard Creek Swinging Bridge (Bella Vista)
There’s a lot to love about the Tanyard Creek Nature Trail, including a swinging bridge. The picture-perfect bridge is in good company, as the entire trail is lined with striking sights, including wonderful waterfalls and crystal-clear creeks. For more information, click

The route we’ve mapped out extends 252 miles and will take about 5-1/2 hours to complete.
You don’t have to visit all three bridges in one day, though. You can visit one at a time, at your leisure. To alter the route we’ve mapped out, click here.
