Arkansas is full of so many fun possibilities when summer rolls around. Now's the time to start planning what you'll do to liven up your time in the sun this year. In addition to spending time on the lake or camping in the woods, set time aside to check out these awesome festivals around the Natural State.
15. Tontitown Grape Festival
The 118th annual Tontitown Grape Festival will be held August 9-13 this year. Come and enjoy authentic Italian dishes and much more!
14. White River Water Carnival
The 73rd annual White River Water Carnival will take place in Batesville at Riverside Park on August 27th. This event is perfect for all ages and will feature food, carnival rides, and fun activities.
13. Oil Town Festival
The 45th annual Smackover Oil Town Festival will take place June 16-18 at City Park in downtown Smackover. The festival celebrates the town's rich heritage with fun activities and contests for all ages.
12. Pink Tomato Festival
The 60th annual Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival will take place in the town square of Warren on June 10-11. A parade, a pageant, tomato eating contests, and live entertainment will be featured at the festival.
11. Hillbilly Daze
Witt Springs Park will host Hillbilly Daze on May 28th. A parade, lunch, and fun activities will take place throughout the day.
10. Crawdad Days Festival
The 26th Annual Crawdad Days Festival will take place at Lake Harrison Park in Harrison from May 20-21st. A carnival, duck races, 5k run, canoe rides, and a crawdad eating contest are among the events taking place.
9. Cave City Watermelon Festival
Cave City Park will host the 37th annual Cave City Watermelon Festival from August 11-13. Live music and entertainment, free delicious watermelon, and a variety of new family-friendly activities will be featured this year.
8. Armadillo Festival
The 46th Annual World Famous Armadillo Festival takes place in the town square of Hamburg from May 4th to May 7th. Food, arts and crafts booths, and a carnival are among the featured attractions.
7. Johnson County Peach Festival
The 75th annual Johnson County Peach Festival takes place July 21-23 in Clarksville's Court Square. Celebrate your love of the peach by participating in a pie eating contest, a pit spitting contest, or show off your kitchen skills in the cobbler, jam, and jelly contest.
6. Mount Magazine Butterfly Festival
The Mount Magazine Butterfly Festival will take place June 24-25 in Paris, Arkansas. Admission is free and visitors will enjoy craft-making activities as well as nature walks and garden tours.
5. Cherry Street Fair
The Cherry Street Fair in Helena is a part of the Helena Second Saturday event. From April to September the street fair offers a variety of fun for families to enjoy.
4. Lum & Abner Festival
An event that takes place annually during the first weekend of June, the Lum & Abner Festival will be held on June 3rd in Mena. Activities include performances of the Lum and Abner radio shows, a classic car show, free concerts, a BBQ cook off, and much more.
3. Cardboard Boat Races
The 30th annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races will be held on July 30th at Sandy Beach in Heber Springs. Watch boats of all sizes compete for prizes. A Titanic Award is even given to the best sinking!
2. Toad Suck Daze
Free admission, arts and crafts, toad races, music, and awesome food - that's what Toad Suck Daze in Conway is all about! The event that heralds the upcoming summer days will be held from April 29th to May 1st in downtown Conway.
1. Riverfest
Arkansas's best known festival welcomes the beginning of summer each year with music and fireworks. Riverfest will take place this year from June 4-5th this year in downtown Little Rock.
