Little Rock's oldest cemetery is regarded as the Westminster Abbey of Arkansas because of its wide range of residents. High brow politicians, poor labor farmers, suffragettes, freed slaves, and Confederate soldiers are all eternal neighbors in this historic cemetery.

The cemetery is melancholy in nature but undeniably beautiful.
This is one of the few cemeteries that has a dedicated tour for the notable trees on the grounds. The landscaping is a valid attempt to make visitors (and possible residents) feel at peace.
However, the cemetery is known to have some unexplainable experiences.
If you want to see the ghosts of Native Americans and Confederate soldiers roaming around like they haven’t been dead for over a hundred years, go to Mount Holly Cemetery at night. Reports of eerie flute music have been heard as well, just before sunrise.
The spookery is known to happen during the daylight hours as well.
Graves have been known to switch locations so you never quite trust your senses. People have also sworn the towering statues seem to move just out of the corner of eyesight. It doesn't help that angles, cherubs, and busts are heavily scattered throughout the entire cemetery.

History comes to life in another way as well at Mount Holly.
For a less creepy experience, it's safer to travel in groups. The tours offered at Mount Holly cover a variety of themes from early Arkansas history, the Native Americans of the area, famous women buried at the cemetery, and more. High school drama students also provide a fuller history of some of the residents during the Tales of the Crypt on the second Tuesday evening every October.
