Arkansas has plenty of cabins and cottages but that's certainly not your only option for lodging. Mena has a quirky castle that's rather amazing. Let's take a tour of this wacky castle for a trip that's not quite like any other.
Arkansas is home to a handful of interesting castles, none quite like the other. One of the most unique is the Hillside Castle in Mena.
This 16th century castle is perfect for a couples retreat. Hillside offers a refreshing change from the typical hotel stay.
Address: 262 AR-375, Mena, AR 71953
You'll instantly notice the touches of historic decor.
Every room has a thoughtful touch that adds to the 16th century vibe.
Although the decor is appropriately dated, the amenities are 21st century.
We especially love the walk-in shower. It had 15 head speeds complete with stereo music and lighting. The castle also features a modern kitchen and wifi.
The sprawling kingdom also has quite a few attractions to keep the royal court busy.
Take a paddle boat across the pond or just take a book to enjoy on one of the waterfront benches. Nearby you'll find the ATV-inspired dream, Wolf Pen Gap as well as the exhilarating The Blue: Zip Line and Farm.
Skip the boring hotel and spend a night or two at the Hillside Castle.
Nights for two start at $135. If you'd like more information and more pictures of the unique stay, head over to this site.
