Tired of the same ol' same ol' when it comes to date night? Your partner probably is too! In that case, spice things up a bit with these fun, unique date ideas that both of you will love. Alaska offers a lot of fun things to do, especially outdoors, all year long. So we put together a bunch of really fun things you and your significant other can do when you get tired of the plain old vanilla dates you go on every other weekend.
1) Go rock climbing at Good Vibes Wall off Seward Highway
If you both love to climb then take it outside and spend the day on the wall. There are hundreds of spots along the Seward Highway with all levels of outdoor climbing spots.
2) Go mountain biking together at Kincaid Park
Even if you don't have the need for speed, it's a lovely place to ride your bikes around together. Kincaid Park is in West Anchorage and offers 1,500 acres of trails to ride on. Keep an eye out for the moose!
3) Race each other on snow machines!
Explore Alaska's backcountry together on snow machines! Visit Alaska Snowmobile Tours and Rentals outside of Girdwood for a great date!
4) Learn to shoot archery together at Full Curl in Anchorage
Full Curl Archery is just one of the many shops around Alaska that offer bow rentals and archery lessons.
5) Watch the sunset somewhere breath-taking like Earthquake Park
Really, any sunset in Alaska is the perfect date, but a great place to start is Earthquake Park in Anchorage.
6) You can always do the Alaskan thing and take a hike!
Go somewhere lesser known and harder to get to for a more romantic hike. Try John Muir Cabin Trail if you're near Auke Bay.
7) Keep it outdoorsy and go kayaking!
There are PLENTY of places in Alaska to kayak. From the iconic Glacier Bay to the thousands of lakes scattered about the state, you and your date will love to kick back and relax on the water.
8) Dance together under the northern lights!
Charm them by turning the headlights off and the music up, dancing under the stars has never been so romantic!
9) Zipline through the rainforest!
Visit Alaska Ziplining Adventures in Juneau for an insanely unique date experience. You'll never forget flying through the enchanting canopy of Alaskan Rainforest.
10) Go fishing at Mirror Lake!
Who wouldn't love going fishing on a beautiful sunny day? Mirror Lake is a great place to fish because it is stocked with trout and the drive through Denali National Park makes it even more of a unique date adventure.
11) Take a helicopter tour and land on a glacier
There are plenty of places you can book a helicopter tour for you and your date. Get a chance to fly over and land on one of the many glaciers in Alaska. It's a beautiful and fun experience that won't be forgotten.
