Even when it's 40 below, the water is inviting and invigorating. In fact, the springs are rumored to have healing properties due to the minerals of the water. It’s incredibly rejuvenating.
You can watch for the Northern Lights while soaking in the warm waters in the winter, which is impossible to do during our summers, as there are 24 hours of daylight in the area.
The waters generate enough geothermal heat and power to allow for crops to be grown year-round in their greenhouse on site. In fact, the resort is diving into renewable energy products using the springs as a geothermal heat source. Chena Hot Springs is a wonderful winter adventure.
They have many types of accommodations to stay in while visiting, including a lodge, cabins, and suites.

With miles of nearby trails, there are plenty of terrains to explore. Available trails are perfect for cross-country skiing, snow machining, or even just taking a gorgeous walk or hike through the beautiful snowy countryside. But our favorite? The Alaska hot springs for soaking.
Dogsledding is another activity offered by the resort for winter travelers.
You can spend a couple hours on the trails outside the resort in a new mode of transportation. The kennel often needs visitors to help hold the puppies, too! Don’t forget to warm up at Chena Hot Springs after your winter activities in the frequently subzero temperatures.
Located on the property is the famous Ice Museum.
Crafted of 1,00 tons of ice, this was completed in 2005. Inside the Ice Museum is the popular Ice Bar, where you can order a martini poured into a handcrafted glass made of ice! This is the second most popular activity, after Chena Hot Springs.
Regardless of the time of year, soaking in the hot springs is a relaxing, beautiful experience for you and your family.
The springs are open 365 days a year, from 7 a.m. through 11:45 p.m. Children five and under are free, kids ages 6-17 are $12.00, and adults 18-59 are $15.00. Seniors ages 60 and over are offered a discounted rate of $13.00. Chena Hot Springs in Alaska offers the ultimate winter experience.
