Alabama is home to a variety of attractions, including many that are quite unique. One of these attractions is The MOOseum, which is a popular place for children and adults alike. To learn all about this one-of-a-kind museum, including some of its quirky features, take a look below.
The MOOseum, which opened for business in 1995, is a unique museum that's located in Alabama's capital city of Montgomery.
Housed inside the Alabama Cattlemen's Association building, THE MOOseum is filled with informative displays that celebrate the state's cattle farming industry.
In fact, one of the displays explains to visitors that cows are used for more than just food, including medicines, sports equipment, household goods, and more. Interestingly, more than 98% of a cow is used, which means almost nothing goes to waste.
A few sculptures are featured at The MOOseum, including Dusty, the museum's resident longhorn. He'll greet you at the door and will welcome you to have your photo taken with him.
While at the Slim's Buckaroo Cattle Club display, you'll learn all about cattle and life as a cowboy. Some of the information just might surprise you.
The MOOseum is a great attraction for the entire family, especially children. They enjoy all the unique displays created for them, including Slim's Kitchen, where they can dress up as a real chef, and...
...The Cowboy Arena, where they can climb atop a saddle and imagine themselves as real life cowboys and cowgirls.
Before leaving The MOOseum, you'll most certainly want to check out its iconic "Beef Wagon." Since 1965, this quirky wagon has been an important part of the Alabama Cattlemen's Association's history. And just like Dusty, it's also a popular spot to have your photo taken.
