Hell’s Gate Bridge is an abandoned bridge that's become a legend in the town of Oxford. According to several locals, in the 1950s, a young couple drove off this bridge and into the river below.
It's been said that if you stop on this bridge and turn your lights off, the young couple will enter your car and leave a wet spot behind on the seat. According to reports, this has happened to many people.
If you've ever wondered how this haunted bridge acquired its name, wonder no more. After stopping on Hell's Gate Bridge, several people have reported seeing a road behind them resembling the fiery gates of Hell.
In late 2005/early 2006, Hell's Gate Bridge was officially closed to traffic. To keep people safe, cement blocks were added to block off the bridge so people won't be tempted to drive across it. People still visit Hell's Gate Bridge by foot, but because if its condition, it's not recommended. "No Trespassing" signs have also been put up.
Nobody knows if the story behind Hell's Gate Bridge is 100% accurate. However, several locals and visitors have had haunting experiences at this bridge. The Lulu's Lighted Boat Parade is a free event that's scheduled to take place on Alabama's beautiful Gulf Coast waters in Gulf Shores on December 14th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. It'll begin at LuLu's Homeport Marina and end at The Wharf in Orange Beach.
While in attendance, you'll get to watch numerous boats that are decked out in dazzling lights and festive Christmas decorations.
