Delaware is a pretty flat state, so finding a breathtaking ovelrook involves a little creativity. Beyond the two "obvious" observation towers, there are a few great places to see Delaware scenery that will take your breath away.
1. Cape Henlopen State Park's World War II Tower
The most famous overlook in Delaware is absolutely that of the Cape Henlopen World War II tower at Fort Miles Historic Area. Climb to the top to see forest, ocean, beach, and an abandoned World War II fort! There's no more interesting view in the entire state.
2. Fox Point State Park's River Walk
Fox Point State Park offers great views of the Delaware River, the city of Wilmington, the city of Philadelphia, and even down to the Delaware Memorial Bridge! This is the most expansive overlook in Delaware and you'll love all that you can see from this park.
3. Any of Bombay Hook's Observation Towers
There are three different observation towers in Bombay Hook National Wildlife refuge, and I'd recommend seeing the refuge from the top of each one. You'll be amazed at how far the expanse of protected marsh goes, and you'll be treated to breathtaking views of nature.
4. Rockford Tower
Rockford Tower in Rockford Park is open occasionally to those who want to climb to the observation deck and look out onto the city of Wilmington. You'll see beautiful parks in the foreground and farther off, the city itself. It's truly a unique overlook in Delaware!

5. The Indian River Inlet Bridge
Though the bridge has a dark and deadly history, it offers one of the best beach overlooks in Delaware. Stroll the walking path during sunrise for a truly jawdropping scene.
