Delaware has miles of coastline, so waterfront dining spots are common, whether they be on the bay, on the canal in Lewes, or on the beach. We've covered some of the best waterfront dining in Delaware in a previous post, but since summer is here we've decided that we really want to eat where we can see the beach and feel the sand in our toes. These 13 beachfront restaurants in Delaware are out of this world, and you've got to put them on your summer dining list.
1. Victoria's, Rehoboth Beach
There's nothing like going for a morning stroll on the beach and stumbling upon your new favorite restaurant. Sunday Brunch at Victoria's - located in the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel - is a contender for the best brunch in the state! From 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM they serve $5 brunch bites including eggs on croute, oysters on the half shell, strawberry banana parfait, and more! $10 and $15 Brunch Entrees are also offered. You've got to try the Chesapeake Omelette, with lump crab meat! And of course, don't miss the $3 bloody mary, mimosa, screwdriver or glass of champagne. Call (302)227-0615 for reservations.
2. 99 Sea Level, Bethany Beach
There's no reason to NOT try this new beachfront restaurant in Bethany Beach. With seasonal menus and the freshest ingredients, you're going to love the experience. Start with the cheese board featuring Chapel's Creamery cheeses, or try the raw bar, which has a great selection.
3. Rusty Rudder, Dewey Beach
The Rudder is a Dewey Beach landmark. You'll have to fight the crowds after 9 PM when the live bands start, but if you can get there early enough to snag a table on the deck, you'll be treated to some great bar food with an ocean twist. As long as you're cool with deep fried everything, the view from the Rusty Rudder is one of the best in the state at Sunset.
4. Obie's By The Sea, Rehoboth Beach
If you're looking for a beach bar, you've found it. Obie's is the best in Rehoboth, whether you're looking to have a beachfront mimosa or a Corona with your dinner after coming in from the ocean. The wings are exceptional, and the rest of the menu has never disappointed.
5. Que Pasa, Dewey Beach
You want delicious, authentic tacos? They've got delicious, authentic tacos. You want to sit in the sand under some palm trees? Can do. What about a beach bonfire in the middle of the week? Sure thing. Que Pasa makes all of your dreams come true.
6. Paradise Grill, Long Neck
You might not expect to find beachfront dining in Long Neck, but Paradise Grill is a sandy oasis. With some of the best drinks in the area and fresh caught seafood, you won't have to go all the way to the beaches to feel like you're on vacation.
7. The Green Turtle, Rehoboth Beach
Great food right on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk - is there anything more you can ask for? Their burgers are out of this world, so get out of the sun and cool off in this hidden sports bar.
8. Mango's, Bethany Beach
Fresh Caribbean food will make you feel like you're spending your vacation on an Island - and the soundtrack of live music at Mango's will complete the picture.
9. The Cultured Pearl, Rehoboth Beach
The Cultured Pearl combines fresh sushi and beachfront dining in Rehoboth Beach. The sushi bar has an incredible selection and just thinking about all of them makes my mouth water. Live entertainment in the summer is unusual for a sushi bar, but it really completes the experience here.
10. The Lighthouse, Dewey Beach
Delicious french dip sandwiches, juicy burgers, and some of the best Fisherman's Stew in Delaware await you at the Lighthouse in Dewey Beach. The location is scenic and the beachfront dining area is quiet, so it's a great place for the whole family.
11. Gus & Gus Place, Rehoboth Beach
We couldn't talk about beachfront dining in Delaware without mentioning Gus & Gus Place in Rehoboth Beach. Gus & Gus has been turning out old fashioned hamburgers, fries, and incredible fried chicken for years, and it's one of the first places that came to mind when I thought about where I'd like to grab a bite to eat and sit in the sand. We love Gus & Gus!
Now you've got no excuse to not eat outside and on the sand this summer! Which places would you like to try?
