Wadsworth Falls State Park is a magnificent recreation area that's nestled along the Coginchaug River in the towns of Middletown and Middlefield. It's home to two gorgeous waterfalls, and you must see them both. The Big Falls drop about 30 feet over beautiful basalt rocks, and the Little Falls drop 40 feet over sandstone.
At 76 feet tall, Mount Carmel Spring Falls is one of Connecticut's tallest waterfalls. This lovely natural attraction sits inside Sleeping Giant State Park. And while it doesn't have the volume of other cascades in the region, it's every bit as beautiful.
