Once a year during early autumn, Connecticut is treated to the limited time opening of an incredible horror museum. Enjoy the thrilling life-sized wax figures and movie props from all of your favorite old-school horror movies. The Witch's Dungeon Movie Museum is once again open, and you'll definitely want to visit.
Visit the life-sized figures that are replicas of characters featured in old-school horror movies. The Witch's Dungeon Movie Museum has been home to these creative works since 1966 and it is the longest running exhibit of its kind in the country.
This year, the doors will open again in the evenings from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays through Sundays in October and also on Halloween night. Wandering through this creepy exhibit is a fantastic way to get you in the mood for the spookiest month of the year.
The museum had its beginnings more than 50 years ago when 13-year-old Cortlandt Hull and his father opened a space to display the youngster's work. Zenobia The Gypsy Witch was one of the very first characters created from the imagination of Hull.
You'll find plenty of other witches and monsters here. In its new location at the Bristol Historical Society, there are more frightening figures on display than ever before.
Each figure is so realistic it's hard to tell they aren't real flesh and blood. Take in the sights of famous characters such as Dracula, The Werewolf of London, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, and Wolf Man.
Tickets to see these bewitching characters are $6 per person. The museum only accepts cash at this time. Tickets sales benefit the non-profit Witch's Dungeon and Bristol Historical Society.
Enjoy a night out at this imaginative and realistic horror museum. The displays here will send shivers down your spine.
