Do you crave a filling and delicious freshly baked homemade pie that is just like the kind grandma used to make? Farmhouse Bake Shoppe in Preston may be one of the newest bakeries in Connecticut, but the taste is traditional and old-fashioned.
Ever since Mandi Migliaccio can remember she has always loved baking from scratch. Even when she was only as tall as the oven, she was wearing a chef's hat and apron as she learned about cooking basics. When she was in third grade, her dream was to one day own and run a small bakery.
Mandi set up Farmhouse Bake Shoppe in January 2020, selling from her farmhouse kitchen. At first, she mostly sold her pies to family and friends. Earlier this year, she started reaching more customers through social media.
To ensure only the best in quality and freshness all ingredients for the pies are sourced from local farms, such as Grant's Berry Patch, Wildowsky Dairy, and Buttercup Farm. The menu is changed every Sunday for seasonal rotation.
The secret to making the most mouthwatering pies is making it with love. From the highly popular chocolate chocolate cream to sweet corn, each pie is a flavorful treat that you will fall in love with.
Instead of using aluminum or tin pie pans, each pie is baked in a reusable glass dish. The $3 deposit per baking dish is included in the price of the pie and is issued as store credit for your next order when you return the dish.
All pies must be ordered three days in advance. You can pick up your own pie from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, plus other days by request. Pies can also be delivered on Tuesday and Friday to your home or office within 20 miles of Preston for an extra $5.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L.
