One bakery we love that is absolutely worth a visit from any corner of the state is Scratch Baking. Located in Milford, they have all the tasty treats you'd come to expect from a great bakery. We're quite fond of the brownies, and dare we say, they may be the best brownies in Connecticut!
Scratch Baking has been in Milford since 2010, and they've got all the typical homemade treats.
Looking for tasty breads? They've got those, of course. Their ciabatta is incredible and you won't want to pass it up.
They even have cafe items, such as a small selection of sandwiches, coffees, and teas. The sandwiches and quiches are great options if you need a quick bite to eat and want something more appealing than fast food.
If you're like us, you'll want to zoom right towards the pastries (no shame). Brownies, cookies, cakes, bars: they've got it all!
Sure, you can go to the grocery store and get a pre-packaged, factory-made dessert and it'd probably be all right...
But it certainly wouldn't look (or taste!) like this.
Their cake-like muffins are superb, too. We love the sweet corn muffin topped with honey butter, and of course, nobody in their right mind should pass up a blueberry muffin. Yum!
