When it comes to hidden gems in Colorado, some of the biggest and brightest of all may just be our unique small towns. Since we are home to hundreds of these tinier communities, it is nearly impossible to see and experience every one of them, which is why we enjoy highlighting a different one every chance we get. Today we are exploring a small northwest Colorado town that is not only beautiful but home to a delicious restaurant you just can't pass up:
Located in northwest Routt County is the statutory town of Yampa, which is home to approximately 450 residents, the gateway to the Flat Top Mountains, and...
...the must-visit Antlers Cafe and Bar!
Built in 1906, the building housing the Cafe has worn many hats over the years (including saloon, pool hall, and gambling den) before transitioning to a restaurant in 1997. It stays true to its roots thanks to its low-key Western ambiance.
In addition to its kitschy interior, the Antlers Cafe is MUST for its incredible menu, most notably their thick and juicy sirloin and ribeyes.
Not a big steak eater? Not a problem, as the Antlers also offers a delicious assortment of pasta, chicken, burgers, fish, and more.
For more information on daily specials, be sure to like the Antlers Cafe on Facebook.
Are you thirsty? You have come to the right place, as the Antlers also has a full-service bar complete with your favorite wine, beer, and spirits.
Antlers Cafe and Bar is open every day from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Address: 40 Moffat Avenue, Yampa, CO 80483
