Are you looking for an adventure that's equal parts exciting and relaxing? It may sound like an oxymoron, but a life-enriching experience exists here in Colorado! If you are ready for this light-up-your-soul excursion, follow us to the beautiful Penny Hot Springs in Colorado:
Located near the former mining town of Redstone, the Penny Hot Springs is a therapeutic, all-natural pool with some of the most iconic Only in Colorado views.
Nestled alongside the Crystal River, the Penny Hot Springs feature a half dozen pools that max out at 130 degrees, with temperatures decreasing the closer you get to the river.
Unlike other natural, primitive hot springs, Penny is easy to access, as it is located just beyond the parking lot and requires minimal hiking.
Surrounded by gorgeous peaks and vistas, there is no better way to kick back than with a soak in this all-natural wonder!
Please note: The Penny Hot Springs can accommodate up to 10 guests at a time. Bathing suits are required.
As a rule of thumb when visiting Penny Hot Springs (or any outdoor area, for that matter), leave the area cleaner than when you arrived!
Admission to Penny Hot Springs is free.
The Penny Hot Springs can be accessed from Glenwood Springs by taking CO-82 E toward Aspen for 10.2 miles and turning right onto CO-133 S (Carbondale). After 14 miles, you will see the hot springs on the east side of the highway, just a few hundred feet north of MM 55.
