Welcome to Lakeside, Colorado; the least populous municipality in Colorado that may only boast a population of 8, but several surprising attractions as well.
Named for the surrounding Lake Rhoda, Lakeside was founded in 1906 by local brewer Adolph Zang, who was planning to open an amusement park but was forbidden to serve alcohol due to the nearby city's strict liquor laws.
(Just what local city are we referring to? Why, Denver, of course, as Lakeside sits just to the west of the Colorado capital!)
What can one do in Colorado's tiniest town? For starters, there is ample fishing at the large Lake Rhoda...
...treat yourself to a shopping spree around the Lakeside Walmart...
(Yes; a town of 8 has its own Walmart!)
