Caves have a reputation for being dark, dingy, and full of bats, making them sound extra scary and unappealing. Agree? Until recently, this was our belief, too, until we discovered Colorado's very own Fairy Caves, which are just as magical as they sound (if not more):
Tucked away inside the iconic Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, the Fairy Caves are just one of 4 different caves that you can tour during your visit to the park.
Boasting a quarter-mile-long, 40-minute tour, the Fairy Caves are well-lit and house narrow turns and passages, plus surprises like natural water features.
Open to the public since 1896, the Fairy Caves are one of the first caves in the country to have electric lighting installed, which makes it easier to maneuver and more family-friendly.
In addition to the walking tour, guests of the Fairy Caves will be treated to stunning views via the viewing balcony (Exclamation Point).
Can you see why we consider the Fairy Caves to be so magical?
Admission to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and its cave tours start at $33 for adults and $28 for children.
To learn more about the Fairy Caves and the other caves and attractions that the Adventure Park boasts, please visit Glenwood Caverns' website.
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is open year-round.
