Do you love animals and dream of traveling worldwide to see as many different kinds as possible? While this is a dream come true for many, it is also incredibly costly and, fortunately, unnecessary, as Colorado is home to what is being called one of the best zoos in America.
Welcome to the must-visit Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!
Located above Colorado Springs, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's only mountain zoo and features nearly every kind of animal you can imagine.
According to USA Today's 10Best's Best Zoo (2020), the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo "connects visitors with more than 750 animals representing 170 species from all corners of the globe," adding that the "ski lift offers stellar views over Colorado Springs."
In addition to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, 10Best also names the Dallas Zoo, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, and San Diego Zoo (pictured) among their list of the nation's best.
If you love animals, you will never want to leave the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, which houses everything from the largest zoo giraffe herd in the world to bald eagles to African lions and grizzly bears.
As if you needed another reason to love the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the attraction also hosts several classes and events, such as the annual Electric Safari holiday light display.
Please note: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is open for reserved pre-reserved tickets and time slots.
