While many restaurants have come and gone, the White House Café has stood the test of time. Although it has switched ownership over the years, one thing has remained constant: this legendary eatery has been serving steaks longer than any other restaurants in the state. As the oldest restaurant in Arkansas, you’ll experience a bit of history with your meal.
Open since 1907, the White House Café is the oldest continually running restaurant in Arkansas.
Located at 323 South Adams Avenue in Camden, this historic eatery is open on Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The no-frills restaurant is dotted with memorabilia from the past, so you’ll feel like you've entered a time capsule as soon as you step inside.
In many ways, the menu isn't what you’d expect from an old-fashioned steak restaurant. In fact, because the eatery has switched ownerships numerous times, you’ll find a wide variety of offerings.
For appetizers or small plates, you can choose favorites like spring rolls, fried pickles, Irish nachos, shrimp, their world-famous cheese dip, and everything in between.
For an entree, choose from fish, chicken, salads, sandwiches, pork chops as well as specials like chicken fried steaks, which is oh so yummy.
If you’re in the mood for Tex-Mex food, the White House Café has you covered. Try one of the sizzling fajita meals, or pick from enchiladas, tamales, quesadillas, and more.
Of course, there are also juicy burgers that will satisfy your foodie heart. Served with chips, onion rings, tater tots, or fries, as well as all the fixins.
What makes this restaurant special is the steak selection. There’s Ribeye, T-Bone, Filet Mignon, and more.
The White House Café has been serving steaks for over 100 years. So, have no worries, your steak will be cooked to perfection.
Besides being the oldest restaurant in Arkansas, this eatery has held one of the oldest liquor licenses. Be sure to grab a mixed drink or a cold beer with your delicious meal.
