I am a nature lover and self-proclaimed foodie wrapped in one package. In my previous life, I was an Accountant, but numbers were boring and writing is the only thing that fuels my soul. So, I write because it's my freedom...it brings me joy. When I'm not writing dope articles for OnlyInYourState, I am writing and editing articles for my online blog on Medium.com. Or, when I get the chance, I am off on a trip with my family chasing waterfalls, or simply exploring the great outdoors. My mantra is to always find the best part of every day and bask in it.
Calling all anglers as well as folks who fish for fun!!! Did you hear that Lake Maumelle near Roland is one of the best fishing spots in Arkansas? If you’re a true angler, chances are, the White River might be your go-to destination for fishing. And yes, I agree that it’s a world-class hot spot, but Lake Maumelle is equally notable. Boasting 8,900 acres and 70 miles of shoreline, Lake Maumelle is a pretty oasis just minutes away from Little Rock. As central Arkansas' main water supply, the quality of the lake is highly protected, so there is no swimming allowed.
But don't let that stop you from visiting the lake, as it offers tons of recreation activities. You can find plenty of hiking trails. with pretty water views...
It's stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, stripers, and bream, just to name a few. And these fish are massive! In the past, a 92-pound black buffalo was caught by an angler.
You can fish at your leisure, but we recommend checking out the Tuesday night tournaments at WestRock Landing at Lake Maumelle. Score big for bragging rights as "Angler of the Year." Plus, you can collect some cash, too.
