We Arkansasans know that there are some great restaurants in the Natural State. And now, it looks like the rest of the world is catching on, as the iconic Arkansas restaurant, Jones’ Bar-B-Q Diner, was just named one of the best restaurants in the U.S.
Jones’ Bar-B-Q Diner in Marianna is famous for several reasons.
One of which is its mouthwatering grub, of course.
But its most recent accolade comes from the New York Times.
The publication included the laidback bar-b-q joint in its 2021 edition of The Restaurant List.
A pretty big deal, the list is comprised of just 50 restaurants.
What’s more, Jones’ Bar-B-Q Diner is the only Arkansas restaurant to make the list.
Worthy of the recognition, the eatery has withstood the test of time, which is impressive on its own, but even more so when you learn that in early 2021, it caught fire and was severely damaged.
The fire was somewhat of a blessing in disguise, though. Loyal customers from around the nation donated tens of thousands of dollars to help fund the rebuild.
The restaurant’s success and popularity all come down to one thing – the food!
Jones’ Bar-B-Q Diner is known for its pulled pork, which is sold by the pound or as a Wonder bread sandwich.
It's also known for its comfy, frill-free setting and friendly service, making it easy to see why patrons feel like family.
