We talked about burgers a little while ago, and it’s about time we added another American favorite to the conversation, don’t you think? Today we’re diving into the world of tacos. After all, who doesn’t love tacos? They’re easy to eat, packed with flavor, easily customizable, and available from a lot of different eateries. Really, you can put anything you want on a taco, which means the possibilities are limited only by human imagination. From the traditional to the innovative, here are the 11 best places to find mind-blowing tacos in the Natural State, in no particular order:

1. The Social Taco (Rogers)

This little taco spot may be relatively new, but Buzzfeed thinks it’s the most popular taco place in Arkansas, and it may be well on its way to becoming just that. Pictured above is the jumbo lump blue crab cake taco with aji amarillo aioli on a corn tortilla, just one of the many taco offerings that have Rogers residents swooning over The Social Taco. You’ll find it at 2882 West Walnut, Suite 1.

2. Local Lime (Little Rock)

According to most articles proclaiming the best tacos in every state, Local Lime is the absolute best when it comes to terrific tacos. You’re going to love offerings like the fried chicken tacos featured above. This Little Rock favorite prides itself on original recipes, premium ingredients, and made-from-scratch cuisine based on Mexican street fare with Tex-Mex flare. You’ll find Local Lime at 17809 Chenal Parkway, Suite F-105 in Little Rock.

3. Las Americas Too (Fort Smith)

People all over the river valley can’t stop talking about Las Americas Too. This family-run business specializes in Mexican, Salvadorian, and Nicaraguan food, and you’d be hard-pressed to find better tacos anywhere. The restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but it’s hands-down the most authentic and flavorful taqueria in Fort Smith, which is a town renowned for its authentic ethnic cuisine.

4. Tacos 4 Life (Conway & Fayetteville)

Tacos 4 Life is a taco place with a mission. You see, every time you buy a meal at Tacos 4 Life, a portion of the price goes to buy a meal for a hungry child around the world. Tacos 4 Life is a favorite of Conway residents and Fayetteville residents as well. Really, though, Arkansans come from all over to seek the deliciousness of Tacos 4 Life, and when you know you’ll get great tacos and serve a worthy cause, who can blame you?

5. El Super Taco (Fort Smith & Van Buren)

El Super Taco isn’t a sit-down restaurant, but it is definitely a place where you can find super tacos. Simply walk up to the window at these small taco stands and order up delicious, affordable tacos. With two locations in Fort Smith and one in Van Buren, this river valley fan favorite is the perfect spot to drive up and carry off a box of fantastic tacos.

6. Los Arcos (Jonesboro)

If you’re looking for tacos that are muy auténtico, look no further than Jonesboro favorite, Los Arcos. This little Mexican eatery has a menu packed with outstanding authentic Mexican choices, and you won’t find a better place to eat a phenomenal taco. The back of the menu is in Spanish, and if you want the most authentic dishes, you’ll want to choose from there. No need to worry about your Spanish reading skills though, as the friendly, bilingual staff will be happy to help however they can. You’ll find this Natural State treasure at 2425 East Matthews Avenue in Jonesboro.

7. Taco Mama (Hot Springs)

When you see the name of this restaurant, you know they’re serious about tacos. Emerging from a pair of restaurant owners who saw the need for more authentic Mexican food in Hot Springs, Taco Mama focuses on entrees hand-crafted daily with fresh ingredients and an eye toward the details of the flavors presented. This amazing restaurant is located at 1209 Malvern Avenue in Hot Springs.

8. Mr. Taco Loco (Fayetteville)

Mr. Taco Loco is a relatively new restaurant in Fayetteville, but that doesn’t diminish its street cred. Fayetteville residents are raving about the crazy delicious tacos at Mr. Crazy Taco. People love the incredible prices, melt-in-your-mouth flavors, and laid back atmosphere. You’ll find Mr. Taco Loco at 1701 South School Avenue .

9. The Fold: Botanas & Bar (Little Rock)

Patrons of The Fold love it for its hip atmosphere, its awesome reputation, its friendly service, and of course the out-of-this-world tacos you can get there. The mouthwatering tacos featured above are The Fold’s famous jerk chicken tacos with fresh mango salsa. No matter which tacos you order, you’re sure to love them, as The Fold doesn’t know how to make anything less than a stellar taco. You’ll find this Little Rock eatery at 3501 Old Cantrell Road.

10. Taqueria Guanajuato (Springdale)

If you ask someone from Springdale or the surrounding area where to find the best Mexican food in Arkansas, you’re likely to hear "Taqueria Guanajuato." That’s because this little eatery is affordable, full of absolutely delicious Mexican cuisine, and has fantastic service. If you’re looking for the best tacos you can find in Arkansas, visit Taqueria Guanajato. You won’t be disappointed and your pocketbook will be happy too. You’ll find these tacos at 103 North Thompson Street in Springdale.

11. Pancho’s (West Memphis)

Pancho’s has been serving West Memphis and the surrounding area since 1956. If you recognize the name of this restaurant from the supermarket shelf, that’s because Pancho’s has a delicious cheese dip available in over 350 stores. There’s also a location in Memphis, Tennessee, but the Arkansas location is our favorite, of course. You can find it at 3600 East Broadway Avenue in West Memphis.
