Unfortunately, Arkansas is not home of St. Helen’s (where most of "Halloweentown" was filmed for those of you not introduced to the Cromwell witches). But not to fret! We have our own cities eagerly getting into the spooky holiday spirit. One town in particular has exceeded the standard of measly haunted house and trunk-or-treat. If you’ve been disappointed in your town’s Halloween spirit, then a trip to Eureka Springs will ease your ghostly woes. We’ve selected the best events that show off the town’s haunting transformation.
Haunt the Hills – All October
Haunt the Hills is a new tradition this year. It’s a Halloween decorating contest so residents and local businesses can add to the city’s motif. The winner has already been selected but that’s all the more reason to take a drive and see all the entries.
Spirits of the Basin – Multiple Dates
This tour has a guided ghost hunt and a chance to see the hotel’s spirits. You’ll start from the rooftop and finish in the limestone cave below.
Flickering Tales – Multiple Dates
Held at the Crescent Hotel, this event starts with Ozark Mountain ghost stories around a campfire, then escalates to a midnight visit to the morgue.
Zombie Crawl - Oct. 28th
This creepy parade brings together locals and visitors in search of fun and brains. The crawl will have makeup artists on site and a Thriller dance workshop.

Halloween Séance – Oct. 31st
Eureka Springs’ Intrigue Theatre will be hosting a dinner séance show. Paranormal experiments will take place as well as attempt to speak to the departed.
