It may not be as big as the Arizona original, but Arkansas' Grand Canyon is still a beautiful overlook in the Ozark National Forest.
It's one of the stops you can add to your Scenic Byway 7 tour. Even if you don't traverse the entire byway, a quick trip to the canyon during wintertime is well worth it.

The canyon is stunning year-round but there's a certain draw right as fall wraps up.
This area is a popular summer vacation but it's not the only time to see the canyon's beauty. As fall wanes and winter sets in, the view changes from it's normal forested greenery. Occasionally the canyon will even be highlighted with a light snow.
Tourists aren't the only visitors to the canyon during the winter.
Arkansas' elk population is most active from the end of November to about February. You can catch them roaming in the Ozarks, especially between Ponca and Jasper. There's really no better bonus to your drive than spotting a part of the elk herd!

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. Most of us have hiked through the beautiful Ozark terrain during fall or perhaps taken one of the scenic train rides in Arkansas. But soaring above the treetops might be a new adventure for you. Witnessing the hardwoods from this vantage point is a once in a lifetime experience that you don’t want to miss.
And you can do just that at the Eureka Springs Zipline that’s only 3 minutes from the historic downtown Eureka Springs, just off Highway 23. With 11 zip line cables that extend up to 2500 feet long, you’ll have the opportunity to witness awe-inspiring vistas of the Ozarks as you soar over a scenic 40-acre gorge. They have the best burgers in town, and we love the quirky laid-back atmosphere. It’s a great place to relax after your day of witnessing the gorgeous fall foliage in Arkansas.
