Sure, we try to brag to other folks about how Arkansas is the best state ever, but we all know it's not true. Arkansas just doesn't have anything going for it, no beautiful waterfalls, nor jaw-dropping bluffs, not even one outstanding park to camp among the tranquil forest. Nope, no one in their right mind would visit our state, especially during winter. There's just no reason why anyone would want to come here.
1. First off, there's nothing to see.
Simply not one wintry picturesque scene to be had.
2. The two measly waterfalls Arkansas disappear as soon as the cold weather hits.
Nope, there's definitely no reason to go hiking to a waterfall in winter.
3. Any fun activity will just get snowed out.
Those few snow days will cancel any outdoor adventure.
4. Nobody goes outside. Not for any reason.
Definitely not for the Polar Bear Plunge that benefits the Arkansas Special Olympics.
5. If you do decide to venture out and have an awful time, you'll quickly become even more disappointed since there's zero chance of snuggling in front of a magnificent fireplace.
Nope, no fireplaces to be had in our state. Especially not at the DeGray Lake Resort State Park.
6. We don't have any wildlife to see.
It's too bad Lake Dardanelle doesn’t offer multiple eagle tours.
7. We certainly don't have any reintroduced elk herds in the area.
Especially ones that are easier to spot between November-February.
8. It's too bad we don't have a train that has fun winter rides.
Nope, nothing fun for Christmas or Valentine's Day. It’s really too bad you can’t book a ride for their events or to simply enjoy the scenery.
9. We really don't have any fun at all.
The cold just sucks out all of our good humor and sense of adventure.
10. Everyone is on the brink of starvation.
We're forced to stay indoors and have nothing but the milk and bread we fought for.
11. So no matter if you're looking high...
12. ...or looking low, you won't be able to find a single reason to visit Arkansas in the winter.
No matter how mild or wild, a winter in Arkansas should be avoided at all costs. It’s a good thing you had us here to tell you the truth.
Speaking of cold things, here are some reasons Arkansas is becoming the coolest state in the nation.
