In all honesty, the best way to see any amazing fall foliage in Arkansas is to just open your door. This is the Natural State, after all. That being said, there are some spots around the state that offer jaw-dropping views of the colorful forests. One trail that has some of the most spectacular fall foliage can be found within Mount Magazine State Park. Let's enjoy the colorful drive as we head up the mountain to take on this lovely trail.
Mount Magazine State Park is a must-visit for fall.
No matter if you're taking the weekend to enjoy the park or just spending the day hitting some of the trails, Mount Magazine is one of the prettiest places to visit during an Arkansas autumn. If you're needing directions, the lodge at the top of the mountain is located at 577 Lodge Dr., Paris, AR 72855.
The best hike to take in all the gorgeous fall colors is Bear Hollow Trail.
It's the perfect hike if you've already taken the family along Signal Hill Trail but you don't want to struggle along the more strenuous North Rim Trail. You'll want to allot about three hours to leisurely enjoy this hike.
You'll be emerged in fall foliage all along the hike.
The 2.8-mile trail takes hikers around the east side of the mountain, from the Benefield Picnic Area to the horse camp near Ark. 309. Bear Hollow is rated as a moderate trail but the minor elevation gains make the trail quite manageable.
The trail also has plenty of opportunities to take in the mountainside scenery.
Inspiration Point, Sunrise Rock, and Bear Head Bluff are just some of the overlooks along the trail. It's easy to extend the hike if you're wanting to drink in more of the panoramic views of the mountain, since this trail is part of the 7.5-mile loop connecting four other trails.
There's no better way to enjoy the fall colors of Arkansas than taking a hike in Mount Magazine.
No matter if you just stroll along Bear Hollow or make a full weekend of exploring the mountain, the views will be simply jaw-dropping.
