Every year, the Arizona Balloon Classic takes to the skies in a rainbow of color.
It's a MASSIVE event - so big, it has received national attention!
The three-day hot air balloon festival in Goodyear, Arizona always kicks off bright and early, typically 7 a.m., and runs all weekend long.
But before the first air launch, this beloved hot air balloon festival in Goodyear, Arizona kicks off with a different bang: on Friday and Saturday evenings, the park comes to life with a "Desert Glow."
The most popular event of the entire Arizona Balloon Classic, dozens of balloons will light up the darkness in time to music. Don't forget to bring a camera as photo-taking is strongly encouraged. You'll definitely want to stick around for the Saturday night fireworks too!
By day, it's a captivating sight. Up to 15 larger-than-life hot air balloons are expected to participate.
Each morning, the balloons will take off from Goodyear Ballpark to compete in thrilling "Hare and Hound" races that put their aerodynamics and piloting skills to the test.
Spectators are invited to come and watch the races from balloon inflation all the way to liftoff.
While the balloons are obviously the main attraction, there's so much more to see and do at the festival.
From live music to water slides and inflatable bounce zones, the whole family is sure to have a blast.
You'd better come hungry, too! The on-site Street Food Fest promises a culinary experience complete with a beer garden and all your favorite concession stand eats.
How does flying up, up, and away on a tethered or traditional balloon ride sound?
You'll soar high above the desert landscape, coming face-to-face with lofty mountain peaks and feeling on top of the world.
Tethered rides are available, as well as actually taking flight.
Note that this is a rain or shine event, but that certain ballooning activities might be canceled due to weather. Rain checks are available in that unlikely case.
General admission varies, depending on whether you purchase tickets in advance or at the entrance.
Several ticket upgrades are available as well, like the VIP Classic Pass. This ticket includes a custom T-shirt that grants you free entry all weekend, food and beverage credits, one hot air balloon ride, and more.
