Temperatures are already in the triple digits across much of Arizona, and we're definitely feeling the heat. Stay cool this summer by visiting Mansel Carter Oasis Park in Queen Creek, which features a pirate-themed splash pad complete with a shipwreck, treasure chests, and the all-important Jolly Roger flag. Kids of all ages are sure to have a blast!
Ahoy, mateys! If you're in search of a fun place for the kids to cool off this summer, look no further than the pirate-themed splash pad at Mansel Carter Oasis Park.
You'll find it on East Appleby Road in Queen Creek.
With a shipwreck as its centerpiece, the splash pad features treasure chests, a Jolly Roger flag, and several other interactive elements that encourage landlubbers to find their sea legs.
Please note: there is no lifeguard on duty, so all participation is at your own risk.
Kids love sliding down the shallow pool below.
Emphasis on the "shallow" - parents, you have nothing to worry about!
Perhaps the most popular attraction the splash pad has to offer is the famous tipping bucket.
It slowly fills with water, and when the weight becomes too much to bear, anyone unlucky (or lucky) enough to be standing underneath gets dumped on.
There's also a regular playground in the park, which, while not pirate-themed, is still a blast for kids of all ages.
With equipment free of nails and rough edges, you can feel good about your little ones running amok with wild abandon.
Benches and covered picnic areas are scattered all across the splash pad, so you can relax in the shade while keeping a close eye on your kiddos.
All that's missing is a picnic lunch and ice-cold beverage!
Address: 19535 East Appleby Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
Hours are 7 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. daily from April through October.
Visit the park's website or Facebook page to learn more.
