No holiday season would be complete without riding around to look at Christmas lights, and Arizona has quite a few neighborhoods that deck their halls to the nines. In no particular order, here are nine of the best neighborhoods for Christmas lights in the Grand Canyon State. You'll definitely be feeling festive after seeing them all!
1. ReinDeer Valley Christmas (Phoenix)
Located in the Deer Valley area, ReinDeer Valley Christmas boasts 50,000 lights dancing to upbeat rock and pop hits. There's so much to see, your eyes won't quite know where to look!

2. Cox Family Lights (Scottsdale)
Although it's "just" a front lawn display, Cox Family Lights is among the largest Christmas light shows in Arizona. More than 35,000 lights dance in synchronicity to the tune of 15 different holiday songs. The coolest part is that 16-year-old Brolin Cox programmed the entire thing!
3. Mesa Christmas
Each year, this Mesa home comes alive with holiday spirit. It's a spectacular sight, with thousands of lights dancing to festive tunes.
4. Miracle On 34th Lane (Phoenix)
For nearly a decade, Valley residents have flocked to the home of James MacGregor at Christmastime. 40,000 lights run the gamut of holiday themes, from a 20-foot-tall tree to a nativity scene.

5. Birkett Family's Winter Wonderland (Scottsdale)
You haven't experienced a true Scottsdale Christmas until you've seen the Birkett Family's annual Winter Wonderland display. It features a little bit of everything: whimsy, scenes from classic holiday films, and—of course—oodles of lights. Come see the spectacle!
6. Christmas on the Milky Way (Chandler)
We can hardly believe that over 140,000 lights make up this space-themed residential light display (on a street called Milky Way in Chandler, cleverly enough). It's the brainchild of homeowner Frank Kostyun, featuring two dozen stars, a 45-foot-tall tree, and a custom synchronized animation.
7. Scary Christmas House (Glendale)
If you're a Nightmare Before Christmas fan, this Glendale display is definitely your cup of tea. For the past three years, Bob Spacy Jr. has designed handmade props inspired by the film to adorn the lawn of his three-bedroom home. You'll see a 12-foot-tall Oogie Boogie, Jack’s ghostly dog, Zero, and 75,000 eerie lights. There's even a projector showing the movie!
8. North Phoenix Lights
Carl Jimenez decks the halls for several major holidays, and Christmas is no exception. In early December, he begins the painstaking work of putting up thousands of lights and decorations on every inch of his house and lawn. What a sight!
Carl Jimenez brings you holiday cheer with his North Phoenix Lights display every year. Check it out in the following video:
Many of the best neighborhoods for Christmas lights do not charge for viewing, but some encourage donations. Check the official website or Facebook page for each house before visiting to learn pricing details and other important information.
