Nothing evokes feelings of nostalgia quite like old-fashioned ice cream parlors. With vinyl booths, black and white checkered floors, and loaded sundaes that bring back our fondest childhood memories, these shops are an absolute treat to visit. Sugar Bowl in Scottsdale is definitely one such place, and it's guaranteed to make your heart and stomach sing with joy.
Nestled in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, this colorful ice cream shop has been keeping the town sweet since 1958. There's no better way to end a day of strolling down historic Main Street than with a nostalgic treat.
Once inside, you'll immediately be transported back to the days of sock hops and diners. Grab a pink vinyl seat and reminisce on cherished childhood memories at the local soda fountain.
You've never seen such an adorable menu. A whimsical poem on the front page tells the story of Sugar Bowl, boasting its history as a family-owned shop since day one.
Giant sundaes are covered in gooey chocolate, caramel, or marshmallow sauce and topped with nuts, whipped cream, and cherries. Ice cream sodas, malts, floats, and parfaits are also delicious blasts from the past.
If you're a Plain Jane who appreciates simplicity, go sans-toppings and enjoy an unadulterated scoop or two. Fresh fruit sherbet and a full menu of regular food are offered as well.
You'll find Sugar Bowl at 4005 N Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85251. The shop is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Friday & Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
