Arizona is so full of hidden gems, you could spend a lifetime exploring and still not discover them all - but don't let that stop you from trying! Birthing Cave Trail, a two-mile hike tucked away in the Coconino National Forest, leads to a little-known cave with sweeping panoramic views that'll leave you breathless.
With its plethora of bucket list-worthy trails, Sedona may as well be the designated hiking capital of Arizona.
If you haven't yet embarked on the Birthing Cave Trail in Sedona, it's definitely one to jot down for future travels.
The hike starts off relatively flat, meandering through the dense, wooded landscape of the Coconino National Forest.
Cacti and other native plants line either side of the trail, and you may even spot some wildlife! Up ahead, the cave looms with a majesty that demands the utmost reverence from all who behold it.
For a mere two-mile trek, there sure is a lot to see.
And with an elevation gain of under 300 feet, the hike is suitable for most ages and skill levels.
As you begin climbing up towards the cave, 360-degree panoramic vistas will give you a whole new appreciation of Red Rock Country.
You can practically see to the ends of the earth from up here.
You'll have to scramble over some slick areas of rock to enter the cave itself, so ensure your footwear has a good grip.
The views are worth every ounce of effort, with the cave walls framing Sedona in the most striking way imaginable.
If you're feeling really adventurous, some hikers like to climb around and perch on the outside of the cave.
It looks like you're floating in mid-air! We must mention, however, that this isn't part of the official trail, so explore at your own risk.
October through May is the best time to embark on the trail, and winter falls right in the middle of that window.
If you've never seen the red rocks covered in a thick dusting of snow, prepare to be awestruck at every turn.
