If you enjoyed the movie Halloweentown as a child, you'll be pleased to learn we have our very own version right here in Arizona. The Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch in Mesa features creepy carnival rides, ghoulish games, themed food and drinks, festive photo-ops, and - of course - a giant patch where you can pick your perfect pumpkin.
This October, Mesa is transforming into a "spooktacular" Halloween wonderland.
The Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch is so much more than just a great place to pick pumpkins. It's a full-blown creepy carnival with themed activities for all ages, including rides, games, food, and festive photo-ops galore.
As you take your first look at the grounds, you'll be faced with the all-important question of what to do first.
Would you like to paint your very own jack-o-lantern? How does getting your face painted sound? No matter what activity you decide to kick off your visit with, rest assured there's plenty to keep the fun going all day long.
Wade through a sea of pumpkins and gourds as you peruse the patch in search of the perfect additions to your front porch display.
You'll see pumpkins of all shapes, colors, and sizes. Going home empty-handed isn't even in the realm of possibility!
The midway is brimming with classic festival games like throwing rings around soda cans and knocking over milk bottles.
Perhaps you'll win an epic prize - but stay vigilant, as you never know what creatures of the night may be lurking in the shadows.
Other activities include a hay maze, carnival rides like funhouses and a carousel, and so much more.
Whether you're a kid or a kid at heart, closing time will come before you know it. That's how much fun you'll have!
There's even a special "Puppy Patch" where you can pose for pictures with your furry friends!
Few things are more adorable than dogs in Halloween costumes.
Visitors are welcome to arrive in costume, but if you forget, that's okay.
Fun photo-ops are scattered all throughout the patch, so you don't have to choose just one character to dress up as. From The Wizard of Oz's Tin Man and Dorothy to blood-sucking vampires and monstrous mummies, there's no limit to the number of alternate identities you can assume.
Admission is $5 per person, and ride tickets go for $1 each (most rides cost 2-4 tickets.)
You can get an all-day ride pass for $20 per person. Parking is free.
You'll find the Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch at Scarizona Scaregrounds, which is located at 1901 North Alma School Road, Mesa, AZ 85201. The patch will be open from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on weekdays between October 14 and October 29, and from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on weekends between October 16 and October 31. Visit the official website or Facebook page to learn more and/or purchase tickets.
