The Sipsey Wilderness, which covers approximately 25,000 acres, is located within North Alabama's William B. Bankhead National Forest.

It was established in 1975 and is situated around the Sipsey Fork of the Black Warrior River.

When it comes to the outdoors, Alabama doesn't disappoint! There are many beautiful outdoor destinations located throughout the Yellowhammer State, including the Talladega National Forest. This national forest is beautiful all year long, especially whenever its emerald green leaves are on full display. The Talladega National Forest, which happens to be located within the southern portion of the Appalachian Mountains, is one of Alabama's most beautiful destinations. It's also one of the state's four national forests.

The Best Times And Places To View Fall Foliage In Alabama

Who's ready for fall? There's no better time than right now to make plans to experience the beautiful autumn colors. It's no secret that this state is stunning throughout the year, but there's something even more special about peak foliage in Alabama. If you're wondering when to see fall colors in Alabama, wonder no more. The website Smoky Mountains has released its updated fall foliage prediction map for the U.S. This interactive map is great for predicting when different parts of Alabama will see those vibrant red, yellow, and oranges.

Read on to find out when and where you can expect to experience Alabama fall foliage this season.

By October 17th, most of the state will be seeing at least a bit of fall color, though some spots in the Deep South will remain unchanged.

During this time, one of the best places to view fall foliage is Little River Canyon National Preserve. It's such a colorful spot this time of year.

By the beginning of November, just three weeks later, the northern corner of Alabama will reach its peak. The central portion of the state won't be close behind.

By mid-November, the central region of Alabama will be approaching its peak while the northeast region of the state will be right at its peak.

While the southern region of Alabama experiences colorful fall foliage, a wonderful place to visit is Landmark Park in Dothan. After all, nothing beats a trip to the park on a beautiful fall day.
