1. Wind Creek State Park - Alexander City

Wind Creek State Park is one of the largest state-owned campgrounds in the United States. It's also the public's access to beautiful Lake Martin. When it comes to camping, Wind Creek State Park offers 586 campsites that cover more than 320 acres. Seven camping cabins are also available. 2. Cheaha State Park - Delta

Cheaha State Park is located atop Cheaha Mountain, which is Alabama's highest natural point. While visiting this state park, you'll be surrounded by the beautiful Talladega National Forest. Cheaha State Park offers a variety of camping options, including cabins, chalets, improved campgrounds, a primitive campground, a semi-primitive campground, and a group primitive campground. 3. Lake Guntersville State Park - Guntersville

Lake Guntersville State Park is located along the Tennessee River and is a wonderful place to go camping. The park's main campground features 65 water and electric campsites, 100+ primitive campsites, and 229 electric, water, and sewage hookups. There's also a country store, a pavilion, tennis courts, playgrounds, and a fishing pier onsite. Lake Guntersville State Park is located at 1155 Lodge Dr., Guntersville, AL 35976.

4. Joe Wheeler State Park - Rogersville

Joe Wheeler State Park is located on the shores of Wheeler Lake and covers approximately 2,550 acres. This beautiful state park features ten lakeside cottages, six charming cabins, and a campground with a total of 116 campsites.

5. Meaher State Park - Spanish Fort

6. Oak Mountain State Park - Pelham

Covering nearly 10,000 acres, Oak Mountain State Park is Alabama's largest state park. One of its main recreational activities is camping, and other than RV camping and primitive camping, this beautiful state park also offers equestrian camping, backcountry camping, and 10 fully-equipped cabins. 7. Gulf State Park - Gulf Shores

Gulf State Park is located on the Gulf of Mexico and features two miles of beautiful white-sand beaches. When it comes to camping, the park's campground offers 496 improved full-hookup campsites with paved pads and 11 primitive campsites.
