While atop of Lookout Mountain, you'll discover Little River Canyon National Preserve in Fort Payne, Alabama. This happens to be one of the state's most popular outdoor attractions.
Throughout the years, this scenic preserve has welcomed numerous visitors from near and far. In fact, many of them continue to visit because they enjoy it so much.
When it comes to activities, Little River Canyon National Preserve doesn't disappoint! It offers a variety of outdoor activities for all ages, including swimming.
As stated in
Southern Living, swimming at this preserve is one of the South's best outdoor adventures. If you've ever swam here, you'll most certainly agree. And if you haven't, what are you waiting for?
Several swimming spots are located throughout this preserve, including Little River Falls. Interestingly, this waterfall is one of the South's most visited and recognized waterfalls. It's also one of the easiest waterfalls to access within the Little River Canyon.
For many years, Little River Falls has also been considered one of Alabama's top swimming holes. Whenever the weather is warm, it's not uncommon to see a crowd gathered here at this Little River Canyon swimming hole.
Another popular swimming spot at this preserve is the "Hippie Hole." This swimming spot, which is also known as Little Falls and Martha's Falls, belongs on everyone's outdoor bucket list.
