Tuscumbia, which was incorporated in 1820, is the county seat of Colbert County, Alabama. In addition to being one of the state's most charming small towns, it's also home to a variety of must-see historic landmarks, including the three listed below.
1. Ivy Green
Ivy Green, which was built in 1820, is the birthplace of Helen Keller. Today, this charming historic home is operated as a museum that gives visitors an opportunity to see where the "First Lady of Courage" grew up. Visitors of Ivy Green will also get to see the famous water pump where Helen communicated with her teacher, Anne Sullivan, for the very first time.

2. Tuscumbia Railways
Tuscumbia Railways, also known as the Tuscumbia Depot Museum, is a beautifully restored train depot that was built in 1888. This depot museum has a variety of train memorabilia on display inside, in addition to actual rail cars on display outside. 3. Belle Mont Mansion
Belle Mont Mansion is located just outside of Tuscumbia. However, it's still considered one of the town's most historic landmarks. It's a beautiful hilltop mansion that's also one of Alabama's most unique homes. What makes it unique is the fact that it's a Palladian-style home. You won't find many of these homes in the Deep South. Built in 1828, Alabama's Belle Mont Mansion is currently operated as a museum and offers guided tours.
