I love visiting places that take me (mentally, at least) away from the stressful, always-plugged-in reality of the modern world and, instead, offer peace and quiet. Mayfield Park in Austin is one such place, and I really feel that not enough people know about it. This tiny oasis features beautiful gardens, a historic cottage, and – get this – wild peacocks strutting their stuff all day long! It’s one of the best city parks in Texas, and I hope you get to visit soon.
Visit the City of Austin’s website for more information about the park, including details on renting the cottage.
Have you ever visited Mayfield Park? If so, do you think it’s one of the best city parks in Texas? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
